The APACVS Meeting uses an entirely electronic evaluation and CME Claim process.  Kiosks will be available during the meeting to log your CME real-time or you may use the CME link to log from any computer or mobile device.

Target Audience


 This activity is designed for all members of the Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgical team including Critical Care team members.




Learning Objectives


 • Discuss and review current state of the art trends in the care of cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery post-operative patients with a special emphasis on their stay in the Intensive Care Unit so as to enhance and improve the care of these patients.

• Practice skills necessary to effectively and safely care for these patients.

• Identify and discuss areas of collaboration between members of the team.


Activity Goal


This activity is designed to address the following core and team competencies:  Patient Care, Medical KnowledgePractice-based Learning and Improvement, System-based Practice, Evidence-based Practice, Values & Ethics, Teams & Teamwork, Inter-professional Collaboration, Roles & Responsibilities, and Inter-professional Communication.





In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Cine-Med and the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. Cine-Med is jointly accredited by theAccreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE),and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Ciné-Med designates this live activity for a maximum of 40 AMA PRA Category 1Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.       


This activity is approved for 40 contact hours for nurses.


All other healthcare professionals will receive a Certificate of Participation. For information on the applicability and acceptance of Certificates of Participation for activities designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, consult your professional licensing board.
